<br />Over time, the non -Hispanic white population has dropped over time since 1990 both measured both by
<br />percentage change and overall population decline. The white population has dropped by 21.48% since 1990,
<br />and has decreased by 1,109,948 people over that span. The white population has gone from representing
<br />45.86% of the region's population to representing 31.62% of the region's population. By contrast, the
<br />Hispanic population in Orange County has grown significantly: 1,786,859 more people identify as Hispanic
<br />currently as compared to 1990, and Hispanic residents now represent 44.44% of the region's population,
<br />up from 34.74% in 1990. The Asian, non -Hispanic population has also increased over this time period,
<br />albeit at a slower pace than the Hispanic population: 237,963 more residents are non -Hispanic Asians, and
<br />their proportion of the region's population has increased from 10.18% to 14.72% today. The Black
