5.10 Jury Duty or Witness Leave <br />A. When an on -duty employee is called to serve as a juror or non-party witness in any <br />court action, he/she shall be allowed to leave for the time actually required for such <br />service, not to exceed six (6) hours per day, without loss of pay. <br />Each on -duty employee called for such service shall present his/her Department <br />Head the jury summons or subpoena calling him/her to such service and shall pay <br />into the City Treasury the fees collected for such service, excluding any <br />reimbursement for mileage expenses. <br />If an employee is called to serve on jury duty during a normal day off or on a City <br />holiday, then the jury duty shall be considered the same as having occurred during <br />the employee's regular day off work; therefore, the employee will receive no added <br />compensation. <br />2019-2022 MOIL City of Santa Ana & SEiU Part -Time Civil Service Employees Unit Page 24 <br />20C-27 <br />
