Adopt Ordinance to Approve Parking Operations Program Transfer <br />May 5, 2020 <br />Page 2 <br />To ensure budget sustainability, the Parking Operations have enacted recent cost -saving measures <br />such as reduction of operating expenses for its garages; increase in parking rates for both garages <br />and meters; and reallocation of pension expenditures. These measures were enacted while <br />balancing the needs of the patrons who frequent the Downtown Area with the implementation of <br />grace period for customers who utilize City -Owned Parking Garages. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's effort to meet Goal #3 - Economic Development, Objective <br />#4 (continue to pursue objectives that shape downtown Santa Ana into a thriving, culturally divers, <br />shopping, dinning, and entertainment destination.), Stategy #B (create a comprehensive program <br />manage parking that includes innovative strategies to provide parking, create revenue and enhance <br />accessibility in the downtown). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Exhibits: 1.
