This concrete structure, <br />originally constructed in 1964-65, consisted <br />of a prestressed circular concrete wall shell, <br />concrete columns and a concrete roof. The <br />purpose of the evaluation was to determine <br />the improvements needed in order for the reservoir to meet current <br />seismic design code (AWWA D110-13), and to determine the extent <br />of sagging and cracking at the existing roof deck. Safety and reservoir <br />appurtenances were evaluated for OSHA compliance (ladders and <br />rity (hatches and vents). Conceptual designs and costs for the recommended <br />provided in a preliminary design report. Following the PDR submittal, final design <br />ase services for the reservoir retrofit were also provided. <br />Tetra Tech performed a condition <br />assessment, site investigation, and <br />structural/seismic evaluation of the <br />Lower Acacia Reservoir (1-D). The City <br />of Fullerton owns and operates this 4- <br />MG reservoir, as part of its potable water <br />system. The structure is a predominantly <br />buried rectangular hopper -bottom tank constructed in 1964. The <br />floor and sloping sides of the hopper bottom consist of a slab -on - <br />grade with wire mesh. The reservoir roof deck is made of precast <br />concrete double -tee panels that are supported by prestressed <br />concrete girders. The girders are supported by cast -in -place <br />concrete columns. The primary purpose of the evaluation is to <br />evaluate and provide options to repair the water leakage issue and evaluate the structural integrity of the <br />reservoir per the current code standards. Final design and construction phase services for the reservoir <br />retrofit were provided after the preliminary design report submittal. <br />The Hunting Horn Reservoir is a semi -buried <br />reinforced concrete cylindrical water tank that <br />was first constructed in 1900, converted to <br />concrete in 1918, and gunite-lined in 1950. <br />Tetra Tech provided engineering/technical <br />services including onsite reconnaissance inside <br />the reservoir to prepare a structural and seismic study and evaluation. <br />The reservoir has a capacity of 0.44 MG, measures approximately 72 <br />feet in diameter and 16 feet high and has a wood frame roof.
