Wardlow Road, Long Beach, CA 90807 <br />Wendy Chen, Senior Project Engineer <br />(562) 570-2324 <br />YEAR COMPLETED: Ongoing <br />KEY PERSONNEL: Joseph Boyle I Nancy Baker <br />Joseph Barrera I Benjamin Halbach <br />As part of our on -call Water Mainline Engineering <br />Support Services for Long Beach Water <br />Department (LBWD), Psomas is providing design <br />engineering services for preparation of preliminary <br />and final construction documents (plans, details, <br />and a material list) for the replacement of 6,150 <br />feet of 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-inch cast iron <br />pipelines. The project involves replacement of <br />pipeline appurtenances including gate valves, <br />hydrants, air/vacuum assemblies, service meters <br />and respective fittings. The scope of services <br />included utility research and field reconnaissance. <br />Utility research included obtaining a list of all <br />known utility owners from our on-line account with <br />Underground Service Alert, a thorough records <br />research, website investigations of County <br />facilities, and field verification of visible surface <br />facilities by our project design team. Psomas <br />follows up on all of our utility research efforts by <br />obtaining as -built plans from each utility owner <br />and incorporating the facilities into the design <br />plans. Benjamin Halbach <br />Joseph Barrera <br />SUBCONSULTANT: Arcon <br />Psomas was retained through an on -call contract <br />with the City of Anaheim to prepare construction <br />documents for rehabilitation and/or replacement <br />of Pressure Reducing Station (PRS) Nos. <br />30, 31, 32, and 43 and construction of a new <br />PRS No. 73. The existing PR stations were <br />constructed in the 1960's and have experienced <br />significant corrosion and overall deterioration. <br />Design services included preparation of a <br />preliminary design memorandum to establish the <br />basis of design, and preparation of construction <br />plans, technical specifications and engineer's <br />estimate.
