There is easy access to the San Diego Freeway (1-405)which is approximately one mile from the southern <br /> border. Air transportation is readily available from nearby John Wayne Airport, two miles south of the City. <br /> Utilities <br /> Southern California Edison provides electrical service within the City, Southern California Gas <br /> Company provides natural gas with the City and COMCAST Cable Company provides cable television service <br /> within the City. The City operates a water system within the City relying on a combination of local <br /> groundwater and water imported from Northern California and the Colorado River and purchased from the <br /> Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The Orange County Sanitation Districts are responsible for <br /> sewer service within the City. <br /> Education <br /> Santa Ana is served by various school districts. Approximately 75 percent of the City is in the Santa <br /> Ana Unified School District and approximately 25 percent is within the Garden Grove Unified School District. <br /> Portions of the City are also located in the Orange Unified School District, Tustin Elementary and Tustin High <br /> School Districts. Enrollment is approximately 21,800, including over 4,900 full-time students and 16,900 part-time, <br /> which includes 16,900 continuing education students. Also located in Santa Ma is California Coast University <br /> which offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. <br /> The University of California at Irvine was opened in 1965 on a 1,510 acre campus a short distance <br /> south of the City offering Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral/Medical degree programs. <br /> 25 <br />
