REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MAY 19, 2020 <br />TITLE: <br />APPROVE AN EASEMENT AND RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA <br />EDISON FOR MAINTENANCE OF <br />EQUIPMENT LOCATED AT FISHER PARK <br />/s/ Kristine <br />CITY MANAGER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to approve an easement and right of way to Southern California Edison <br />for maintenance of equipment at Fisher Park, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Southern California Edison (SCE) is improving service reliability to Santa Ana residents with work tc <br />be performed on the power lines along the northerly property line of Fisher Park (Exhibit 1). To <br />enable SCE to perform the work, they are requesting an easement to be able to access the existing <br />power lines. This easement would be permanent and add to existing easement rights under SCE <br />for this park site. There is no cost to the City, nor SCE for this easement. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Strategic Plan Goal #5 - Community Health, <br />Livability, Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #4 (support neighborhood vitality and livability). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Exhibit: 1.
