Salas, Diana
From: Irma Jauregui <irmapj@yahoo.com>
Sent: Tuesday, May 19, 2020 2:56 PM
To: eComment
Subject: 5G wireless antennas is Wilshire Square
Dear Mayor and Councilmembers
We have received the information from Verizon as to the locations and possible views of this equipment.
My family, immediate neighbors and myself are very concerned and not in favor at all of having them so close to our
homes, as close as our bedrooms windows in my case, for several reasons I'll mention below; 1. Possible harmful health
Low frequency electromagnetic radiation emissions.
2. Earthquake or fire hazards
3. Unsightly equipment in our historic neighborhood intrusion on street and homes views 4. Although not easy to
measure at this time, but as a realtor, equipment that is unsightly can affect and lower property values, especially if it's
so close to homes that it makes that area undesirable.
5. If 1 company is allowed to do this, then how can we say no to the many others that eventually will apply? It's the
broken window effect with equipment inundating our residential neighborhoods! Please have them reconsider
locations and designs.
I know that technology has to be updated to help consumers, but I hope and I'm sure that if they can find a way to
install them on the commercial corridors at edges of our neighborhoods, with designs that incorporate the character of
our streets, the residents would feel much more secure and supportive of changes going forward With much respect,
Irma P Jauregui Wilshire Square resident and past president of Wilshire Square Neighborhood Assn.
Sent from my iPad
io
