EXHIBIT A Appendix ATTACHMENT 1 SCOPE OF WORK CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CIVIC CENTER PLAZA OF THE FLAG/FOUNTAIN STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS RFP NO.: 20-027 Introduction and Backl1round: The Civic Center Plaza of the Flag and Plaza of the Fountain were constructed in the early 1970s. The reinforced concrete decks have degraded to the extent where recurrent surface water and storm runoffs have infiltrated the slabs and the deteriorated existing pipe penetration core seals, resulting in undesirable nuisance leakages onto the parking garage below. Other observed deficiencies include spalled concrete, exposed and corroded steel reinforcing bars, and cracked decorative and plain finish surfaces. A structural analysis report is needed to provide cost estimates and recommendations for future repair to ensure public safety. The City is accepting proposals from experienced firms to provide their professional structural engineering expertise to determine the existing facilities' serviceability, the options available to return such facilities to its original intended functions, and the cost of such endeavors. Description of Work: The Consultant's responsibilities include the following, and shall consist of the followingproject tasks; Task I: Assessment of existing condition Review existing as-builts and compare with current Conduct field inspection of the structures including, but not limited to: o Parking garages o Structure deck slab layers, beams, joints, drainage, rebars, cracks,etc. o Drainage o Pedestrian bridge o Water fountains and planters o Miscellaneous features on the plaza decks Provide evaluation of potential project constraints and solutions. ➢ Deliverables shall include a Preliminary Report, including afield Site Reconnaissance memo which verifies the existing structure conditions and inventory of structure characteristics.
