EXHIBIT A <br />Appendix <br />ATTACHMENT 1 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br />FOR <br />CIVIC CENTER PLAZA OF THE FLAG/FOUNTAIN <br />STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS <br />RFP NO.: 20-027 <br />Introduction and Backl1round: <br />The Civic Center Plaza of the Flag and Plaza of the Fountain were constructed in the early 1970s. <br />The reinforced concrete decks have degraded to the extent where recurrent surface water and storm <br />runoffs have infiltrated the slabs and the deteriorated existing pipe penetration core seals, resulting <br />in undesirable nuisance leakages onto the parking garage below. Other observed deficiencies <br />include spalled concrete, exposed and corroded steel reinforcing bars, and cracked decorative and <br />plain finish surfaces. A structural analysis report is needed to provide cost estimates and <br />recommendations for future repair to ensure public safety. <br />The City is accepting proposals from experienced firms to provide their professional structural <br />engineering expertise to determine the existing facilities' serviceability, the options available to <br />return such facilities to its original intended functions, and the cost of such endeavors. <br />Description of Work: <br />The Consultant's responsibilities include the following, and shall consist of the followingproject <br />tasks; <br />Task I: Assessment of existing condition <br />Review existing as-builts and compare with current <br />Conduct field inspection of the structures including, but not limited to: <br />o Parking garages <br />o Structure deck slab layers, beams, joints, drainage, rebars, cracks,etc. <br />o Drainage <br />o Pedestrian bridge <br />o Water fountains and planters <br />o Miscellaneous features on the plaza decks <br />Provide evaluation of potential project constraints and solutions. <br />➢ Deliverables shall include a Preliminary Report, including afield Site Reconnaissance <br />memo which verifies the existing structure conditions and inventory of structure <br />characteristics. <br />
