REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JUNE 2, 2020 <br />TITLE: <br />AWARD A PURCHASE ORDER IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $44,227 TO COURTESY <br />CHEVROLET CENTER, FOR ONE <br />CHEVROLET SILVERADO 250OHD TRUCK <br />(NON -GENERAL FUND) <br />(SPECIFICATION NO. 20-071) <br />/s/ Kristine Ridge <br />CITY MANAGER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />F-ITUNTIRSAW91 <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />,K•�►nl►tri�.ic•� <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Courtesy Chevrolet Center for <br />one Chevrolet Silverado 250OHD Truck in the amount of $44,227, plus a contingency of $5,000 for <br />a total amount not to exceed $49,227, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency, Fleet Services Division (Fleet Division) is responsible for the <br />acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance <br />equipment. The Water Resources Division is in need of one Chevrolet Silverado 250OHD Pickup <br />Truck to replace an aging fleet vehicle that is used daily to perform water systems maintenance. <br />The existing vehicle is a model -year 1992 truck that has exceeded its useful life according to the <br />Fleet Division's recommended Equipment Lifecycle Guidelines. Replacing this vehicle with a more <br />reliable vehicle is essential to ensure the continued delivery of high quality water service to the <br />customers in the City of Santa Ana. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 29, 2020, on the City's online bid management <br />and publication system. A summary of the bid invitation and bids received is as follows: <br />357 Vendors were notified <br />6 Santa Ana vendors were notified <br />12 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />2 Bids received <br />0 Bids received from Santa Ana vendors <br />Two bids were received and evaluated.
