Salas, Diana
From:
Abigail Aleman <a1bbyrd13@gmai1.com>
Sent:
Tuesday, June 02, 2020 6:19 PM
To:
eComment
Mayor and Councilmembers,
My name is Abigail Aleman and I'm a resident of Santa Ana. Today I'm speaking out against Item 65B.
Eliminating 176 jobs as a cost cutting measure is detrimental to our city. As a Park Ranger for a City in Orange
County, I have been working hard since the COVID 19 epidemic hit us, so I know how hard our city employees
have been working. I am displeased that there is an intent to eliminate 176 essential jobs. This is not the time
to be cutting jobs. Many of us have been hit hard financially without work and now these essential workers
livelyhood is at risk.
Our city employees take pride in the work they do to keep our community running. Parks and Recreation
employees work hard to make sure our kids and students have safe and clean parks, afterschool and summer
city programs, renovated city pools, an amazing public library and much more.
Santa Ana has the higgest taxes in Orange County and it is unbeliveable that we have to eliminate city jobs
now. Where is our money going to if not to our community. Please reconsider eliminating these jobs.
Best regards,
Abigail Aleman and Albert Arreola
