Library Services <br />Santa Ana Public Library's purpose is to respond to the community's informational, educational, <br />and personal interest needs using books, materials, technology, and professional expertise. <br />INITIATIVE <br />SUMMARY <br />STATE/FEDERAL <br />Library Services <br />Support the Santa Ana Public Library by advocating <br />State/Federal <br />for the following: (1) infrastructure needs; (2) <br />equitable access to library and information services; <br />(3) library participation/representation in statewide <br />initiatives for early education, adult/family literacy, <br />digital literacy, career support, services for vulnerable <br />populations, after-school/summer programs for youth, <br />and other educational and social service programs; <br />4 and funding <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is responsible for delivering a variety of <br />services to the community, including recreation programs, parks, and the operation of the Santa <br />Ana Zoo. <br />INITIATIVE <br />SUMMARY <br />STATE/FEDERAL <br />Administration of <br />Oppose legislation that has a negative impact on the <br />State/Federal <br />Parks and <br />administration of park and recreation services and <br />Recreation <br />resource management including the sale of park <br />Services <br />lands and open space, relaxations of park dedication <br />fee requirements and the imposition of regulatory or <br />statutory requirements that provide no added <br />protections or benefit to Santa Ana's recreational <br />consumer. <br />Health and <br />Support access opportunities for all Santa Ana <br />State/Federal <br />Wellness <br />residents to physical activity, proper nutrition and <br />healthy lifestyle options through the promotion of <br />active transportation, complete street implementation, <br />healthy foods, youth programming and maximizing <br />the usage of green space in urban/suburban and rural <br />settings for personal enjoyment. <br />Parks and <br />Support efforts to provide funding for the <br />State/Federal <br />Recreation <br />rehabilitation, development and capital improvements <br />Funding <br />for local improvements in order to enhance the active <br />and passive recreational infrastructures in the Santa <br />Ana. <br />Sustainability <br />Support the enactment of policies and encourage <br />State/Federal <br />state funding opportunities to assist Santa Ana in <br />meeting sustainability objectives including energy and <br />water efficiencies, active transportation <br />enhancements, connectivity and mobility <br />improvements and carbon sequestration through <br />natural landscape management and protection. <br />19C-13 10 <br />
