Orozco, Norma
From:Adrienne Flynn <cairish1017@gmail.com>
Sent:Thursday, June 18, 2020 4:11 PM
To:eComment
Subject:Fireworks
I would appreciate anything done to reduce, restrict or, preferably, eliminate use of fireworks in Santa Ana.

I have lived on Greenville & Macarthur for 32 years. For the past 6-8 weeks, the quantity of fireworks that are
set off seems to have greatly increased compared to prior years as we approach the 4th of July. There is no
pattern, but it has been occurring many times during week nights and occasionally during the day. Someone
nearby frequently sets off fireworks that have one LOUD boom, in addition to others that hiss, pop &
crackle. It sounds like they're close by, & coming from the large duplex/fourplex apartment complex located
between Greenville & Fairview, & south of MacArthur. Note: For many years, the annual 4th of July & New
Year's Eve fireworks sounds I hear seem to come from that same area, also.

I'm accustomed to the fireworks around the 4th of July...a few weeks before & a few weeks after. However,
this is becoming ridiculous & aggravating. MANY people are currently on the Next Door website, expressing
their concerns as well. I empathize w/those who have frightened children & distressed animals on
sedatives. Having been burned on the forehead & scalp by faulty fireworks, I am concerned about the dangers.

What you have in a firework is an explosive missile. Get too close to it and it could burn
you badly, disfigure you for life, or even kill you. Every year, millions of dollars of damage
is done by stray fireworks setting fire to property.

I appreciate your consideration.

Adrienne Flynn

1
