Receive and file dog park update <br />July 7, 2020 <br />Page 2 <br />2. Identify Funding <br />There is no funding identified to design, develop or maintain the site. Funding opportunities <br />might include grants, sponsorships, or naming rights to build the park. The City will also <br />need to dedicate funds to maintain the park after it is built. <br />Develop Concept Plans <br />To develop concept plans, the city would hire a consultant to develop conceptual plans, <br />which include community outreach to provide residents an opportunity take part in the <br />design of their dog park. Conceptual plans often include cost estimates for proposed <br />concepts, to help guide future grant opportunities and/or fundraising efforts. <br />4. Parks Master Plan - Incorporate Dog Park Opportunities <br />For Fiscal Year 2020-21, the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) <br />is requesting funding to prepare a 10-year Parks Master Plan (Master Plan). The <br />comprehensive Master Plan will focus on immediate, short-term, and longer -term capital <br />development and improvement strategies that correspond to the community's unmet needs <br />and priority investments for critical parks, recreation and community services. The Master <br />Plan will identify, among other goals and initiatives, future dog parks and/or dog run <br />locations. The Master Plan will also provide guidance for Santa Ana's public parks, open <br />space and trails.
