• Work experience wages also include $250 stipend x 2 participants completing a 1-week <br />Window Tinting Training course (40 hours instruction/hands-on practice) = $500. <br />• Work experience wages also includes a sliding scale wage incentive program with <br />employers. Participants will be hired by employers. Project Kinship will pay a portion of <br />the wages to the employer on a sliding scale until the employer is paying the full hourly <br />wage of the participant. Sliding scale will be based on participants being paid $12 per <br />hour. During the first 160 hours, Project Kinship will pay $8 per hour and the employer <br />will pay $4 per hour. During the next 240 hours, Project Kinship will pay $6 per hour and <br />employer will pay $6 per hour. During the next 120 hours, Project Kinship will pay $4 per <br />hour and the employer will pay $8 per hour. After the completion of 520 hours, the <br />employer will be paying the full wage of the participant. Wages are calculated at $3,200 <br />per participant x 15 participants = $48,000. <br />• Total participant work experience cost is $50,500. <br />22. Supportive Services: <br />• Supportive services include: bus passes ($4.50 one way; $45 for a 30-day youth bus <br />pass; $65 for a 30-day adult bus pass); gas cards ($5 value for single trips or $50 value <br />for 30-day use); as well as the purchase of participant specific needs such as uniforms, <br />tools, textbooks, driver's education classes, clothing, etc. of various costs. <br />• Supportive services are calculated at an average of $350 per participant x 20 <br />participants = $7,000. <br />23. Participant Incentives: <br />• Participant Incentives can be earned in the form of a $50 Visa Gift Card for completing <br />various program outcomes including: obtaining employment; retaining employment; <br />enrolling in education; retaining education (i.e. enrolling in second semester of college; <br />obtaining passing grades); obtaining a Driver's License; completing the 6-week Work <br />Readiness curriculum; earning an industry recognized certification; and/or being <br />discharged from Probation or Parole. <br />• Participant Incentives are calculated at an average of $250 per participant x 20 <br />participants = $5,000. <br />24. Youth Conference: <br />• Youth conference costs include registration for participants to attend the California <br />Workforce Association Annual Conference. Registration costs are $400 per participant x 3 <br />participants = $1,200. <br />• Youth conference costs also include per diem $40 per participant x 3 participants x 3 days <br />= $360 as well as the cost of participating in other leadership opportunities, such as a <br />policy advocacy workshops, the Project Kinship Annual Re-entry Conference, etc. <br />estimated at a total of $240. <br />• Total youth conference cost is $1,800. <br />25. Pertinent Forms to track Work Experience: <br />• Project Kinship will be utilizing the following pertinent documents/forms to track work <br />experience compensation for participants/employers involved in the sliding scale wage <br />program: signed Memorandum of Understanding with employers; signed participant <br />timesheets; participant evaluation form (completed by employer during first two weeks <br />25B-202 <br />
