2020-21 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />Furthermore, WIOA youth will be encouraged to participate in additional programs that we <br />have at our agency to give youth more opportunities and "hands-on" experience on a variety of <br />fields (health, education, arts and technology), so they can gain as much work experience as <br />possible. <br />TABLE 5: Additional Job Training Programs for WIOA Youth mentored by NON-WIOA staff <br />PROGRAM <br />DESCRIPTION <br />Days/Times <br />Early Start Program <br />The Early Start program is and early intervention program <br />Mondays & Tuesdays <br />that integrates very young children (6 months to 3 years of <br />8:30 am —11:30 am <br />age) with and without special in a natural community <br />Fridays <br />environment with their parents. It aims at enhancing <br />8:30 am —10:30 am <br />students' cognitive, language, motor and social <br />development. <br />Pre -Kinder Arts <br />The Pre -Kinder Arts program is a bilingual school readiness <br />Wednesdays & <br />Program <br />program that serves children ages 3- 4 years old. The <br />Thursdays <br />parents and children work together in a creative and <br />8:30 am —11:30 am <br />nurturing environment by engaging in music, art, literacy, <br />Fridays <br />and parenting classes to prepare children for school. <br />10:30-12:30 pm <br />After School Arts <br />The ASA for Life program provides artistic training in the <br />Monday— Friday <br />Program <br />fields of Music, Visual Arts, Dance, Musical Theatre, and <br />3:30 pm —8:00 pm <br />Technology training to at -risk youth, and children with <br />and Saturdays <br />disabilities in the community. <br />9:00 am-4:00 pm <br />Therapeutic Arts <br />This program serves children and youth with disabilities of <br />Monday— Friday <br />Program <br />all ages and special needs, including: learning disability, <br />3:30 pm — 8:00 pm <br />health impairments, physical disability, developmental <br />Saturdays <br />disabilities and others. <br />9:00 am —4:00 pm <br />Learning Academy & <br />This program provides homework support and tutoring to <br />Monday— Friday <br />Tutoring Program <br />students (ages 5 —16 yrs.) in Language Arts (reading and <br />4:00-8:00 pm <br />writing), math, and other academic subjects. <br />Saturdays <br />9:00am-5:00 pm <br />OCCTAC <br />This program provides outreach, prevention, referrals and <br />Monday— Friday <br />Family Wellness <br />engagement with individuals at -risk of mental health <br />8:30 am —8:30 pm <br />Program <br />problems. Other support services include parenting, <br />and weekends <br />counseling, and support groups. <br />Senior Socialization <br />This program provides early intervention and socialization <br />Monday —Saturdays <br />Program <br />activities to older adults at -risk of mental health problems. <br />8:00am—8:00pm <br />Services are provided at OCCTAC and various Senior Centers <br />in Santa Ana. <br />B. Special consideration will be given to organizations that can prepare youth for targeted <br />in -demand industries as identified in the OC Regional plan: OCCTAC's Youth employment <br />program prepares youth in 2 targeted in -demand industries identified in the OC Regional <br />plan: 1) Healthcare and 2) Technology. <br />C. Special Consideration for organizations that offer job training/preparation in the industries <br />of: Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math. OCCTAC offers job training and <br />preparation in 3 of the industries mentioned above: 1) Technology, 2) the Arts and 3) Math. <br />25B-29 <br />
