June 16. 2020 <br />Subject: City Council Agenda Items: 65A, 75A & 85B, <br />Community, Youth and Senior Services, and Dedicated <br />Santa Ana Employees & Constituents <br />Dear Mayor, City Council and City Manager Ridge; <br />As follow-up to our June 2, 2020 letter and regarding tonight's (6/16/20) <br />City Council Meeting Agenda Items we respectfully request to not yet <br />vote in support these actions tonight: <br />65A Charter Amendments (Please do not vote until JuIV 7, 2020 <br />Ten —ding clarifications that we will request —while still allowing <br />adequate time to meet required processing timelines —we expect to <br />be able to support this at the next Council Meeting), <br />75A Proposed FY 20/21 Budget (Please do not vote to support until <br />iob titles at this time or remove any part-time positions as a <br />budget savings measure while 176 workers were separated, <br />pending full reinstatement of these workers and transparency and <br />review of proposed mob family changes not vet received and which <br />need to be reviewed), and <br />85B Proposed transfer of precious City Funds to another <br />organization: to Santa Ana Unified School District while the subject <br />of future concessions has been raised. (Please do not Vet support.) <br />We are reiterating our "ask" with regard to the 176 SEIU Local 721 <br />employees who were suddenly separated effective 5/22/20 even though <br />they were already working zero (0) hours and on unemployment: <br />On behalf of ALL of Santa's Community, Seniors, and Youth, we <br />respectfully request that the Santa Ana City Council act to direct: <br />That the City's HR Department immediately recall and reinstate <br />these same 176 employees and rescind the actions taken to <br />suddenly separate them from the City effective 5122120. <br />That Measure X Cannibus and CARESAct funding for Youth & <br />Community be utilized to help fund and reinstate our City's 176 <br />long-term part-time workers represented by SEIU Local 721. <br />A. These long-standing employees have worked 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 <br />on up to 50 years for the City of Santa Ana to serve our <br />community's parks and recreation, senior and youth services and <br />
