Training (2-page max) <br />Project Kinship intends to partner with multiple training providers for selected training <br />programs in order to be the most responsive to local community needs and job opportunities in <br />Orange County. Project Kinship collaborates with other community -based organizations and <br />local WIBs to identify current labor market projections and high -growth industries for each <br />target area. Alongside this data, Project Kinship works to identify what careers may not be <br />available for certain reentry participants (for example, participants with drug convictions may <br />not be eligible for careers in the healthcare industry due to background cheeks for training or <br />employment). In addition, the Project Kinship identifies any traininngs or occupations that require <br />a highly specialized or advanced degree, significant multi -year job experience/training, or even a <br />H.S. Diploma. This analysis helps the Project Kinship identify high demand occupations in their <br />area and training programs which can lead to Industry Recognized Credentials or Apprenticeship <br />programs into these fields. Upon participant intake, Project Kinship staff can then assess <br />.background and education level to help guide service delivery for legal services rind record <br />expungement, education services to complete a H.S. Diploma or GED, and occupational skills <br />training and Apprenticeship opportunities. In order to be the most responsive to both the needs <br />of local employers and industry groups, as well as the needs of participants with different <br />education or criminal background. <br />Project Kinship offers an onsite training course and certification in Customer Service and <br />Sales that serves as preparation for entry-level positions in the Hospitality/Entertainment <br />industry. Past participants have been successfully placed at restaurants in Downtown Disney, <br />Howard Johnson hotels, Angels Stadium, Starbucks, and In-N-Out Burgers. The proposed <br />
