Book/Tech Mobile <br />Provide mobile library services to meet the changing community needs by serving people <br />where they live, learn, work, and play with an emphasis on technology, robotics, and STEM <br />learning. Mobile services provide critical access to library material, programming, and <br />technology. <br />Completed: <br />• Bid advertisement for the bookmobile, a custom designed Ford Transit van. <br />• On August 18, 2020, the City Council approved a grant agreement accepting <br />grant funds from the California State Library for the Knowledge Mobile "Know- <br />Mo": This grant funding provides additional books, educational programs, and <br />technology for the new bookmobile service. <br />In Progress: <br />Bidding process has closed and a vendor has been selected. The awarding of a <br />purchase order in the amount of $169,240 to Matthews Specialty Vehicles Inc. for <br />a new bookmobile has been placed on the 9/1/2020 City Council Agenda. <br />Timeline: <br />Bookmobile deployment anticipated for December 2020, however, may depend <br />upon vendor's timeline to build the vehicle. <br />19D-1 <br />
