Informational Report: Police Oversight Models <br />September 15, 2020 <br />Page 5 <br />In addition to the flexibility of the makeup of each police oversight commission, variability also <br />exists among the costs associated with each. Research of a handful of cities indicate that the <br />models with full investigatory power requires the greatest amount of annual funding; whereas, non - <br />investigatory power models that serve to monitor require the least. <br />OPTIONS <br />The City Council has the following options relating to this matter: <br />1. Direct staff to evaluate one or more of the presented police oversight models and return to <br />the City Council with additional information. <br />2. Direct staff to conduct additional research on police oversight topics and return to the City <br />Council with additional information. <br />3.
