MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />October 4, 1982 <br />The meeting was called to order by <br />in Room 147, City Council Chambers, <br />present were John Acosta, Daniel E. <br />McGuigan, and Mayor Gordon Bricken. <br />J. Wilson, City Attorney Edward J. <br />Janice C. Guy. Councilmember R. W. <br />1:17 p.m.; Councilmember Alfred C. <br />Mayor Pro Tem John Acosta at 1:11 p.m. <br />22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers <br />Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. <br />Also present were City Manager A. <br />Cooper, and Clerk of the Council <br />Luxembourger joined the meeting at <br />Serrato was absent. <br />WORK STUDY SESSION Richard Thompson, President of <br />AMTRAK DESIGN CONCEPT Archiplan unveiled an architech- <br />ural rendering of the Amtrak <br />station proposed for Santa Ana <br />and discussed briefly modifications which had been made to the design. <br />Mark Hall, also of Archiplan, conducted a hypothetical walking tour of <br />the building, describing traffic patterns, interior facility placement, <br />landscape design and plantings, and structural materials. He explained <br />that construction was anticipated to begin in the spring of 1983 and <br />should be completed toward the latter part of the year. Both members of <br />the firm then responded to Councilmembers' questions. The Council as a <br />whole expressed approval with the new design for the Orange County <br />Transportation Center (Amtrak Station). <br />The Council recessed at 1:55 p.m. and reconvened in the Council Chambers <br />at 2:09 p.m., with the same members present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Following the Pledge of <br />INVOCATION Allegiance to the Flag, the <br />Invocation was given by Council - <br />member Luxembourger. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />ITEMS REMOVED <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />APPROVED <br />The following items were removed <br />from the Consent Calendar: 3B, <br />4, 5A, 5D, 5E, 5F, 8, 12, 17A, <br />17B, 19A, 19B, 19C 2 and 3. <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, <br />seconded by Luxembourger, to <br />approve staff recommendations on the <br />following Consent Calendar items: <br />AYES: Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, McGuigan <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Serrato <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />333 <br />OCTOBER 4, 1982 <br />
