Derick Coleman <br />Environmental/Permitting <br />Dr. Coleman has over 38 years of experience in environmental <br />consulting, and more than 30 years of experience as a project manager. <br />He has been responsible for multiple large environmental evaluation <br />and mitigation projects with significant need for technical analyses, <br />impact evaluations, remedial actions and thorough discussion and <br />explanation of actions and/or results. In addition to management <br />responsibilities, he has performed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses <br />and designs to address coastal and riverine flooding, erosion, and <br />sedimentation; dredged sediment disposal; and stream channel <br />stabilization. He has conducted and directed field reconnaissance <br />surveys and field evaluations related to assessment, modeling, <br />and remedial actions. Dr. Coleman's technical specialization is in <br />geomorphology and hydrology. He has applied his expertise in fluvial <br />geomorphology to erosion and sedimentation analyses, flood plain <br />delineation and evaluation, wetlands delineation and mitigation, and <br />archaeological geomorphology. His hydrology experience includes <br />engineering design of surface drainage systems, environmental <br />contaminant evaluation, environmental impact assessments, and <br />underground storage tank investigations. <br />Diversion Manual and Water Quality Monitoring Guide, County <br />Flood Control District, Los Angeles, CA. Project Manager and <br />Primary Author. Provided technical, organizational, and preparation <br />support for a Diversion Manual and companion Water Quality Monitoring <br />Guide for in -channel maintenance and emergency repair work in <br />the presence of standing or flowing water. The manual provided <br />containment and conveyance options for handling surface water as <br />well as appropriate best management practices (BMPs) for different <br />scenarios. The monitoring guide described standard procedures for <br />sampling diverted water to ensure that the management techniques <br />employed are successfully protecting water quality. <br />Jordan Cove Energy and Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline Third - <br />Party Environmental Impact Statement, Federal Energy Regulatory <br />Commission (FERC), Coos County, OR. Technical Lead; provided <br />support to the Environmental Impact Statement team for the water <br />resources discussion of potential impacts. The proposed project is a <br />liquefied natural gas tanker loading facility in Coos County and a 229- <br />mile pipeline crossing three counties to deliver the natural gas to the <br />loading facility.
