PLUBLIC COMMENT: PLEASE READ ALOUD DURING PUBLIC HEARING <br />My name is Doug Mangione and I am a representative of The <br />International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Orange County. <br />IBEW provides 2400 skilled and trained electrical workers to our <br />signatory electrical contractors. IBEW 441 was established in 1928 right <br />here in City Santa Ana and has been serving the orange county region <br />ever since. Our Apprenticeship program is also based here in the City of <br />Santa Ana under the auspices of Ranch Santiago Community College. <br />We currently provide training to over 400 apprentices, most of which <br />reside in Orange County and in Santa Ana. <br />I am writing in support of the commissions recommended actions <br />regarding Item 1, the project referred to as ONE BROADWAY PLAZA. <br />The city of Santa Ana is fast becoming a culturally diverse vibrant urban <br />setting and this project will be a major enhancement to what the city is <br />becoming. The city is embracing the future and this project is also <br />embracing the future. This will be an environmentally conscious state <br />of the art building, built to high LEED standards, using the latest energy <br />efficiency technologies.IBEW is in the forefront of teaching and <br />establishing the curriculums for those technologies. <br />I would also say that as we come out of this COVID 19 pandemic we are <br />going to have to get this economy rolling again and ONE BROADWAY <br />PLAZA is as shovel ready as any project to get started immediately. <br />I support your recommendation.
