This is from Sam Romero, who dictated the following:
Dear Commissioners
My name is Sam Romero and I have my heart in the Logan neighborhood. We have had a
problem with traffic already and its getting worse. Regarding Washington St. the traffic is not
safe. We need something to slow down the traffic. Washington is the worst street.
Civic Center Dr. has not been too bad yet but, with this project we can see it will get worse.
We already have people cut through the Logan streets which are quite narrow to try to get to
the freeway faster.
Santa Ana Blvd. has not been to bad.
The first two streets, Washington and Civic Center have been the worst ones to bring a unsafe
number of cars into Logan.
If this building is going up and with people living there, than yes there has to be affordable
housing.

It is something to think about that you are willing to accept the old environment report. We are
not the same Santa Ana.

I just wish the building could be cut in half.

It is unbelievable to here that the parking spots will be an extra charge rather than having them
included with the apartment price. People will park on the streets. Please be sure the parking is
included with the apartment.

All these things are negative. How many negatives do you need before you stop the project.

If built, it would be outstanding if Harrah used local workers.

Thinking of the developer, I tell this story. Years ago I talked to Dave Ream, City Manager in
regards to protecting Logan by using redevelopment money to relocate businesses out of
Logan. I asked him, “What do we have to do to get something done in Santa Ana, grow
beards, including the women?”
