5.0 Environmental Setting 5.3 Cultural/Historical Resources <br />Avion Project SEIR <br />Page 5.3-22 <br />5.3.5.2 Impacts <br />No known religious or sacred uses were identified within the project site. A Native American monitor <br />was consulted and visited the project area. No existing religious or sacred uses, including religious <br />or sacred lands, were identified by the Native American monitor. A letter was sent to the NAHC in <br />Sacramento on January 4, 2018 requesting a search of their Sacred Lands File. A response was <br />received on January 9, 2018 stating that search had been completed for the project area with <br />negative results. <br />5.3.5.3 Significance of Impacts <br />Implementation of the project would not adversely affect any known religious or sacred uses on- <br />site. No impact would occur. <br />5.3.5.4 Mitigation, Monitoring, Reporting <br />Mitigation would not be required. <br />5.3.6 Issue 3: Human Remains <br />• Would the project result in the disturbance of any human remains, including those interred <br />outside of formal cemeteries? <br />5.3.6.1 Threshold <br />In accordance with the City’s Significance Determination Thresholds, prehistoric and historic <br />resource impacts may be significant if the project would result in: <br />• The disturbance of any human remains, including those interred outside of formal <br />cemeteries. <br />5.3.6.2 Impacts <br />No known burial sites or cemeteries exist within the project site, and it is not anticipated that human <br />remains would be discovered during construction. In the unlikely event of the discovery of human <br />remains during project grading, work would halt in that area and the procedures set forth in the <br />California Public Resources Code (Section 5097.98) and state Health and Safety Code <br />(Section 7050.5) would be undertaken. <br />5.3.6.3 Significance of Impacts <br />No known burial sites or cemeteries exist within the project site, and it is not anticipated that human <br />remains would be discovered during construction. Therefore, impacts would be less than significant.
