OCT 31 Month 2: NOV 1 - NOV 30 Month 3: DEC 1- DEC30 to be seivad Unduplicated Participants the scheduled Estimated Invoicing $ 270,000.00 $ 270,000.00 $ 270,000.00 $ 810,000,00 This assistance is intended to be an emergency grant that is issued to pay rent in response to solving an unexpected crisis. Families facing a financial crisis because of COVID-19 are eligible for $3,000 in rental relief payable to their landlord on their behalf. Eligibility Crlteria: Santa Ana residents unable to pay rent due to impacts related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Households at or below SO%AMI (see 2020 HUD Income Limits) Households that are behind and/or on a payment plan due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVI D-19) Program Details: This program will be advertised by the City of Santa Ana via Nixie, on the City WebsAG, via social media and via direct email(s) Residents will apply online via a link on the City of Santa website. Two local nonprofits are available to assist in completing the application process, if needed. Once the applications is submitted, all applications will be lotterized and selected applications will be assigned to one of the following nonprofits to check eligibility, contact and receive documents from the landlord. The nonprofit agency will submit periodic Invoices with back-up documentation (canceled rent checks) for reimbursement and reports will be provided through the application software. State CARES Act funding will be used for rent payments directly to landlords on behalf of Santa Ana residents and indirect expenses. The CARES for Tenants Program was originally launched in May 2020 using federal Community Development Block Grant- Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to provide $1,500In rental relief per household. In October 2020, the City revised the Program Guidelines to increase the amount of assistance per household from $1,500to $3,000to more effectively address the needs of families facinga financial crisis. The two local nonprofits are responsible to ensure that the families who originally received only $1,500from May 2020to September 2020 are recertified to receive an additional $1,500in rental relief. As such, every family under the CARES for Tenants Program would receive $3,000 per household, including those families that were already assisted. IU
