Box 12680 Westminster, CA 92685 Re: Speaker Engagement Agreement Dear Ms. Runnion: N-2020-202 This letter represents The Joyful Child Foundation's Agreement with the City of Santa Ana ("City") as entered into on the above date for the engagement described below: 1. Event Description: Presentation for Adults at the Santa Ana Public Library. Speaker will provide an Educational Workshop for preventing child abuse and abduction featuring Erin D. Runnion. This is a virtual presentation via the Zoom platform and hosted by a City Librarian. Registration will be required of all participants (public event). 2. Date(s): Tuesday, November 17, 2020 3. Event Time(s): 10:00AM to 11:00AM 4. Location: This is a virtual event. Santa Ana Main Library will be hosting the presentation virtually via the Zoom platform. 5. Compensation: $350.00 (payable by check within 30 calendar days of event); Speaker must provide IRS form W-9 before payment can be made. 6. Equipment provided by City: None. The City is responsible for set-up and advertising. Equipment provided by Speaker: all equipment necessary for presentation. 8. Independent Contractor: Speaker shall, during the entire term of this Agreement, be construed to be an independent contractor and not an employee of the City. This Agreement is not intended nor shall it be construed to create an employer -employee relationship, a joint venture relationship, or to allow the City to exercise discretion or control over the professional manner in which Speaker performs the services that are the subject matter of this Agreement; however, the services to be provided by Speaker shall be provided in a manner consistent with all applicable standards and regulations. Speaker shall pay all salaries and wages, employer's social security taxes, unemployment insurance and similar taxes relating to employees and shall be responsible for all applicable withholding taxes.
