This assistance Is Intended to be an emergency grant that Is Issued to pay rent In response to solving an <br />unexpected crisis. Families facial; a financial crisis because of COVID-19 are eligible for $3,000In rental relief <br />payable to their landlord on their behalf. <br />Eligibility Criteria: <br />Santa Ana residents unable to pay rent due to hnpacts related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) <br />Flauseholds at or below 80%AMI (see 2020 HUD Income Limits) <br />Households that are, behind and/or on a payment plan clue to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) <br />Program Details: <br />This program will be advertised by the City of Santa Ana via Nixie, on the City website, via social media and via <br />direct amail(s) <br />Residents will apply online via a Zink On the City of Santa website. Two local nonprofits are avallable to assist In <br />completing the application process, If needed. Once the applications is submitted, all applications will be <br />lotterized and selected applications will be assigned to One Of the following nonprofits to check eligibility, <br />contact and receive documents from the lanrilbrd. <br />The nonprofit agency will submit perlodic invoices with backaup documentation (canceled rant checks) for <br />reifnbursement and reports will be Provided through the application software. <br />State CARES Act funding will be used for rent payments directly to landlords on behalf of Santa Ana residents <br />and Indirect expenses.. <br />'file CARES for Tenants Program was originally8aunched to May 2020 using federal Community Development <br />Block Grant - Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to provide $1,500 in rental relief per household. In October 2020, <br />the City revised the Program Guidelines to increase the amount of assistance per household from $1,500 to <br />$3,000 to more effectively address the needs of families facing a financial crisis. The two local nonprofits are <br />responsible to ensure that the families who originally received only $1,500from May 2020 to September 2020 <br />are racerH(icel. to receive an additional $1,500 In rental relief. As such, every family under the CARES for Tenants <br />Program would receive $3,000 per household,including those Eamliies that were already assisted. <br />19 <br />
