Certification of Loss of Rent due to the Coronavirus (Exhibit B)
The City is required to verify your revenue loss or rent loss due to the Coronavirus to confirm that the
City's payment is necessary. Exhibit B of the template Agreement is the following documentation to
demonstrate that the landlord has experienced a loss of rent due to the Coronavirus during this same
period last year compared to this year. This information should include the entire property. If you have
multiple properties and you are unable to accept payment on behalf of all of them, please list each
property separately and provide the name of the property at the top of each list.
* Total rent payments received from January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019:
$12,000
• Total rent payments received from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020:
$12,600
Difference in Revenue / Rent between 2019 to 2020: $600 * SEE NOTE
* NOTE: There was not a loss of rents when comparing 2020 to 2019, because rent increases were
Issued during 2019 which raised the anticipated rental income, and I applied part of the July rent
payment toward the rent owed in April. Without applying the rear payment made in July, the total
payment received would be $11,400.
The tenant was immediately impacted by the Coronavirus and did not pay rent for the month of April.
However, they were able to pay in the rear beginning of May 2020 to July 2020. 1 counted the payment
the tenant made in the month of July toward April rent owed. The tenant defaulted on rent again for the
month of August, September, October and November Rents. Although the tenant was able to make
small partial payment throughout these months, the remaining balance as of November is $5,600 (Total
amount I am seeking for relief through CARE).
* Without Coronavirus and without the rear payment made in July, the total rent received between
January 2020 and June 2020 would be $11,400 ($1,200 less).
Please see the itemized rent payment below between April and July
