Two local nonprofits are available to assist in completing <br />the application process, if needed. Once the applications is submitted, all applications will be lotterized and selected <br />applications will be assigned to one of the following nonprofits to check eligibility, contact and receive documents from the <br />landlord. <br />The nonprofit agency will submit periodic invoices with back-up documentation (canceled rent checks) for reimbursement <br />and reports will be provided through the application software. <br />CDBG-CV 3 funding will be used for rent payments directly to landlords on behalf of Santa Ana residents and indirect <br />expenses. <br />The CARES forTenants Rental Assistace Program was originally launched in May 2020 using federal Community <br />Development Block Grant - Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to provide $1,500 in rental relief per household. In October 2020, <br />the City revised the Program Guidelines to increase the amount of assistance per household from $1,500 to $3,000 to more <br />effectively address the needs of families facing a financial crisis. The two local nonprofits are responsible to ensure that the <br />families who originally received only $1,500 from May 2020 to September 2020 are recertified to receive an additional <br />$1,500 In rental relief. As such, everyfamily underthe CARES for Tenants Program would receive $3,000 per household, <br />including those families that were already assisted. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
