Orozco, Norma <br />From:Linda K <lkteamtalk@gmail.com> <br />Sent:Tuesday, February 02, 2021 4:00 PM <br />To:eComment <br />Subject:In support of Community Choice Aggregation <br /> <br />Dear Mayor and City Council, <br /> <br />Thank You for all your hard work for the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Please vote to move forward on supporting CCE for the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Community Choice Energy/Aggregation (CCE/CCA) is long overdue for Santa Ana and all of Orange County! <br /> <br />Community Choice is a smart, fiscally responsible thing for a City to choose for its residents and businesses. <br />- It's supported by many conservative-leaning Mayors and Council members. <br />-CCA's have a strong record of financial and local rewards. <br />- 5 CCA's have achieved increased Credit Ratings THIS YEAR by Standards and Poor and Moody's whereas utilities <br />have not, (See below for reference). <br /> <br />Here are some other facts: <br />Most of what I reference is found here: https://cal-cca.org/cca-impact/ <br /> <br />23 CCA agencies are currently operating with over 10 million customers. <br />CCA's have been operating in California for TEN YEARS <br />They all deliver rates for the generation portion of electricity CHEAPER than the utilities <br />Over 10 million customers have the EASY TO DO choice of opting out of a CCA, but 94% stay in <br />(It's a click of a button and a short questionnaire to OPT-OUT). <br />In Irvine's feasibility study, they estimate that 3.4 million per year will be returned to the City for programs AFTER <br />ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID. That's all staffing, fees, loans, obligations. All of that money gets put back into energy <br />programs, savings or jobs for the ratepayers. <br /> <br />Elected Officials and staff on currently active CCA's are readily available to support you, answer questions, and tell you <br />why it is a wise choice to join.
