Blended Learning Classrooms <br />HSTi hybrid courses combine traditional or face-to-face classroom instruction with an online learning <br />environment. Online chat rooms and threaded discussions provide opportunities for exciting and productive <br />class interaction, as well as the opportunity to connect with faculty members for help and guidance. Chat rooms <br />are open for discussion with peers at any time or with instructors during office hours. Each blended course also <br />engages students with interactive learning exercises and animated activities while providing an audio-visual <br />advantage. Effective online learning requires more than simple text on a screen. Students are able to see and <br />hear each lesson from any computer with internet access. <br />For each of our hybrid programs, results of the tests taken are returned to the student on the same day or the <br />following day at the latest. Responses/comments to the lessons or projects submitted are sent back to the <br />students either on the same day or on the next business day at the latest. <br />Equipment <br />HSTi classrooms are supplied with a Laboratory work area and Lecture room equipped with the following at <br />each of their three campuses: <br />• Pharmacy Technician: computers, anatomical charts/models, Laminar -Flow Workbench, <br />mortar and pestle, crash carts, Pharmacological References, Triple beam and electronic balances, <br />scale, ointment slabs, syringes, IV fluids, biohazardous waste containers. <br />• Clinical Medical Assistant/Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant_ Personal computers, centrifuge, <br />electrocardiograph machine, examination tables, Mayo stands, microscopes, sphygmomanometers, <br />stethoscopes, surgical instruments, training mannequins, autoclave, Audiometer, scales, thermometers, <br />electronic nebulizer, wheelchair, crutches, walker, venipuncture arm, derriere for injections, bio- <br />hazardous waste containers. <br />• Computerized Office & Accounting Personal computers with Windows 10 and MS Office Suite.
