Criminal Justice <br />Required: Security Guard Registration Is required through the Bureau of Security and <br />Investigative Services (BSIS), <br />An employer screening process In the industry may Include, but is not limited to: Background <br />investigation Medical exam (Including a stress test EKG and height to weight ratio IBM[]); <br />urinalysis; blood test(, Lie detector test (polygraph)/Voice Stress, Analysis, Physical fitness test <br />Psychological exam, Written test, Face to face Interviews Criminal history and Credit check <br />Dental Assistant <br />Proof of Immunizations may <br />Optional: Graduates may become a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) through the California Dental <br />be required. <br />Board, <br />Recommended Hepatitis B <br />California law requires all RDA applicants to undergo a criminal background check. <br />(HBV) vaccination and a <br />RDA Applicants must report all convictions including infractions, misdemeanors, and felonies. <br />tuberculosis (TB) skin test <br />performed before <br />externship <br />Electrician Technician <br />Registration with the State of <br />Required: Students that wish to perform electrical work for a C-10 contractor must register with the <br />California as an Electrician <br />California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) as an electrician trainee, Registration allows <br />Trainee (ET). <br />students to work in the electrical field under supervision of a C-10 contractor. <br />Adverse driving records or prior criminal background convictions, Including driving under the <br />influence, may have difficulty finding employment in the field. <br />Heating, Ventilation & Air <br />Required: United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 609 Certification for <br />Conditioning <br />Stationary Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (EPA Certification) is required to work. <br />Optional: While not required for employment, graduates may pursue an optional ESCO Institute <br />- Universal R-410A Safety Training & Certification. <br />Medical Assistant <br />Recommended Hepatitis B (HBV) <br />Optional: While not required for employment, graduates may pursue the optional certifications: <br />vaccination test and atubedbefr <br />(TB) skin test performed before <br />Nationally Certified Medical Assistant through the National Center for Competency Testing <br />externship. <br />(NCCT); <br />• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants <br />(AAMA); <br />• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT). <br />Medical Billing and Insurance <br />Proof of Immunizations may be <br />Optional: While not required for employment, graduates may pursue an optional certification as an <br />Coding <br />required. <br />Insurance& Coding Specialist through the National Center for Competency Testing(NCCT); optional <br />Billing and Coding Specialist Certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA); or <br />optional Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/Certified Professional Biller (CPB) through the American <br />Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). <br />Medical conditions such as Hepatitis A, B, and C, TB (tuberculosis), HIV/AIDS, and other related <br />conditions may impact licensure eligibility. <br />
