ARG's context statements clearly and concisely
integrate the varied historic themes, patterns, and trends that
substantiate the significance of a specific event, property, site,
or community. In conducting a historic resources survey, ARG
evaluates the properties in a given location with respect to the
historic themes, patterns, and trends identified in the context
statement. Working with city/county staff, local commissions,
historic preservation advocacy groups, and private citizens, ARG
has successfully completed an extensive number of historic
resources surveys and context statements.
• SurveyLA, Los Angeles Citywide Historic Resources Survey:
Pilot Survey (Boyle Heights); Group 1 Survey (West Adams,
Baldwin Hills, Leimert); Group 2 Survey (South and Southeast
Los Angeles); and Group 4 Survey (South San Fernando Valley
Community Plan Areas), Group 5 Survey (Westchester, Playa Del
Rey), Group 6 Survey (North San Fernando Valley Community
Plan Areas), Group 7 Survey (Wilshire, Boyle Heights), Group 8
Survey (North and Central San Fernando Valley Community Plan
Areas), Group 9 Survey (Industrial Properties, Northeast Los
Angeles), Group 10 Survey (Central City) Los Angeles, CA
• Contributions to the Los Angeles Citywide Historic Context
Statement for SurveyLA, including Los Angeles Modernism
• Balboa Highlands, Historic Context Statement and Survey, Los
Angeles, CA
• Beverly Fairfax Historic Resources Survey and Context
Statement, Los Angeles, CA
• Cannery Row, Historic Resources Survey and Context Statement,
Monterey, CA
11 Architectural Resources Group I Environmental and Planning Services
