the City Manager and City Attorney to report back to the City Council prior to the <br />March 2, 2021 Council Meeting with a proposed Urgency Ordinance requiring <br />premium pay (Hero Pay) for front-line Grocery retail employees within the City. <br />MINUTES: City Council provided direction to staff. <br />City Attorney Sonia Carvalho noted additional research is needed and would look at <br />other categories if directed by council. <br />Substitute motion died due to a a lack of second. <br />Amended language: If a store has been already providing hazard pay ensure it is <br />noted and review litigation pertaining to similar resolutions in other cities. <br />Moved by Councilmember Phan, seconded by Mayor Sarmiento to adopt as <br />amended Resolution No. 2021-007 to include discount language for employers who <br />already provide hazard pay and review litigations in other cities that have similar <br />resolutions.. <br />YES: 4 — Phan, Lopez, Hernandez, Sarmiento <br />NO: 3 — Penaloza, — Bacerra, — Mendoza <br />ABSTAIN: 0 <br />ABSENT: 0 <br />Status: 4-3-0-0 — Pass <br />**END OF BUSINESS CALENDAR** <br />City Council 14 2/2/2021 <br />
