the program completion percentage calculation in determining the Student's <br />financial obligation to the Institution. <br />If any portion of your tuition was paid from the proceeds of a loan, the <br />refund will be sent to the lender or to the agency that guaranteed the loan. <br />Any amount in excess of the unpaid balance of the loan will be first used to <br />repay any federal/state/private student financial aid program from which <br />you received benefits, in proportion to the amount of the benefits received. <br />Any remaining amount greater than $5.00 will be paid to you. If there is a <br />balance due, you will be responsible for paying that amount. <br />Financial Aid Office <br />The Financial Aid Office is open to students during the hours posted on <br />campus. Students are encouraged to call or visit the office if they have any <br />questions or need assistance regarding their financial aid. <br />The resources of the Financial Aid Office are available to all students. <br />Financial Aid staff members assist students in determining individual <br />eligibility for the various aid programs and in completing the necessary <br />applications and paperwork. To receive federal financial assistance, students <br />must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward completion of their <br />program as outlined in the school catalog. The Financial Aid Office is <br />responsible for monitoring each student's academic progress to ensure <br />continued eligibility. <br />Student Responsibilities <br />Students must promptly return all required applications and paperwork <br />to the Financial Aid Office. <br />If the Financial Aid Office needs to see a student, the office will contact <br />the student personally. It is the student's responsibility to see Financial <br />Aid when notified. <br />Each student who receives a student loan is required to complete <br />entrance and exit counseling. The Financial Aid office will notify each <br />student when these sessions are scheduled. If a student misses a <br />session, it is the student's responsibility to contact the Financial Aid <br />Office to reschedule a date. <br />If a student obtains a loan to pay for an educational program, the <br />student will be responsible for repaying the full amount of the loan plus <br />interest, less the amount of any refund, and that, if the student has <br />received federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a <br />refund of the moneys not paid from federal student financial aid <br />program funds. <br />Financial Aid <br />Concorde Career College participates in the United States Department of <br />Education's Federal Student Assistance programs. These programs are <br />available for those who quality. <br />Federal Pell Grant <br />The Federal Pell Grant is a grant to students who qualify under the federal <br />financial need guidelines. Application is made through the Free Application <br />for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). <br />Federal Supplemental Educational <br />Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) <br />The FSEOG is a grant that the school awards to students based on financial <br />need and the avallability of funds. Application is made through the Free <br />Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). <br />Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans <br />Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans are low -interest loans made by the U.S. <br />Department of Education. See Financial Aid for details. <br />Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate <br />Students (PLUS) <br />The Federal PLUS Loan is a low -interest -rate loan available for parents of <br />dependent, undergraduate students enrolled at least half time. Applications <br />are available online at httns,//studentaid.gov/. <br />Default <br />If you received a loan guaranteed by the federal or state government and <br />you default on the loan, both of the following may occur: <br />1. The federal or state government or a loan guarantee agency may take <br />action against you, including applying any income tax refund to which <br />the person is entitled to reduce the balance owed on the loan. <br />2. You may not be eligible for any other federal student financial aid at <br />another institution or other government assistance until the loan <br />is repaid. <br />Cal Grant A, B and C Programs <br />The Cal Grant A, B, and C are grants the State of California awards to <br />students based on financial need. For more information regarding the <br />programs and application filing deadline, contact the Financial Aid Office or <br />the California Student Aid Commission at www.csaaca.Qov or 888-224-7268. <br />Alternative Financing <br />For those students who qualify, alternative financing is available through <br />several lenders. Cosigners may be necessary, depending on credit history. <br />Other Aid <br />Concorde Career College provides limited financing options to students who <br />require funding beyond their federal eligibility. <br />Veterans Administration Students <br />Prior Credit Evaluation <br />All official college transcripts need to be submitted for evaluation for prior <br />credit by the 24'h week of school or by the end of the second term. <br />Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018 <br />In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e), this school adopts <br />the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of <br />Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill' (Ch. 33) or Veteran Readiness and <br />Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending <br />from the VA. This school will not: <br />• Prevent the student's enrollment; <br />• Assess a late penalty fee to the student; <br />• Require the student to secure alternative or additional funding; <br />• Deny the student access to any resources(access to classes, <br />libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other <br />students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the <br />institution. <br />However, to qualify for this provision, such students may be required to: <br />2020-2021 Garden Grove Catalog I Publication Date: November 30, 2020 1 Effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 <br />27 <br />
