The externship evaluation scale is as follows: <br />Financial Aid Units of Credit <br />3 Student knows the underlying principles and carries out procedures <br />skillfully and accurately. <br />2 Student performs procedures with a fair degree of accuracy. <br />1 Student performs most procedures but requires guidance <br />and supervision. <br />0 Student is unable to perform procedures even with guidance <br />and supervision. <br />X Procedure was not observed or performed. <br />Student Records <br />Effective: 08/24/2020 <br />The Registrar's/Student Records Manager's office maintains academic <br />records of all coursework completed at the school, and they are maintained <br />on campus for five years. Academic transcripts are maintained indefinitely. <br />Transcripts are released only after receipt of a signed, written request from <br />the student. Transcripts issued to the student are marked "Issued to <br />Student" Students are allowed one official transcript at no charge. A fee will <br />be charged for each additional transcript. <br />Records on Hold <br />Effective: 08/24/2020 <br />Academic records may be placed on hold for any of the following reasons: <br />• A financial obligation to Concorde Career College; <br />• Failure to return Learning Resource Center materials or school <br />equipment; or <br />• Default on a federal student loan. <br />Until the hold is removed, individuals will not be allowed to: <br />• Restart school from a withdrawal status <br />Appeals to this policy may be made to the Campus President in writing. The <br />Campus President will notify the student in writing regarding the outcome of <br />the appeal. <br />Academic Units of Credit <br />One semester credit hour equals 45 units (and one quarter credit hour equals <br />30 units), comprised of the following academic activities: <br />• One clock hour in a didactic learning environment = 2 units <br />• One clock hour in a supervised laboratory setting of instruction = <br />1.5 units <br />• One hour of externship=l unit <br />• One hour of out -of -class work and/or preparation for the didactic <br />learning environment or supervised laboratory setting of instruction <br />that are designed to measure the student's achieved competency <br />relative to the required subject matter objectives = 0.5 unit <br />Concorde measures programs in either semester credit hours or financial aid <br />units of credit. For financial aid eligibility and disbursements, the school uses <br />the system of clock hour to credit hour conversion established by the U.S. <br />Department of Education. One credit is equal to 37.5 clock hours. <br />Measure of Program Duration <br />The ending date or graduation date from a program is a "scheduled" <br />graduation date. In-service days, holidays, and other unscheduled events <br />that could cause interruptions in scheduled training may influence the actual <br />calendar length of a program. <br />Withdrawal Policy <br />Student -Initiated Withdrawal <br />Students who wish to withdraw may do so by contacting the Academic Dean <br />or Program Director via telephone, mail, or preferably in person. The <br />withdrawal date will be the student's last date of attendance. A student who <br />withdraws during the first seven calendar days of a grading period will not <br />have that course(s) recorded on his or her transcript. A student who <br />withdraws after the first seven calendar days of a grading period will receive <br />a grade of "W" up to 14 calendar days before the end of the term. Within 14 <br />calendar days of the end of the term, the student will receive either a "WF" <br />or "W P" depending on quality of course work completed to date. This is not <br />calculated in his or her cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The credits <br />will count toward attempted credits. <br />The student will be provided with exit interview forms. There are financial <br />and/or financial aid Implications for withdrawing. Please consult with the <br />Financial Aid and/or Business Office to determine how withdrawal will <br />impact your student account. <br />Withdrawal for Violation of School Policy <br />The school may withdraw a student from his or her program of study <br />for violation of published school policy. If a student withdraws from school <br />without notifying the school, the withdrawal will be effective from the last <br />date of attendance. If the student is withdrawn for violation of published <br />school policy, the withdrawal date will be the last date of attendance. <br />A student who has been withdrawn during the first seven calendar days of a <br />grading period will not have that course(s) recorded on his or her transcript. <br />A student who has been withdrawn after the first seven calendar days of a <br />grading period will receive a grade of "W," which is not calculated in his or <br />her cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The credits will count toward <br />attempted credits. <br />The Drop/Add period for each term is 7 calendar days. A student who does <br />not attend a course or whose last date of attendance (LDA) in a course is <br />within the Drop/Add period may be voluntarily or involuntarily withdrawn <br />from the course without academic or financial penalty. A student who does <br />not post any attendance in a course in the first 14 calendar days after the <br />start of the term will be unregistered from the course and not receive a <br />grade for the course. <br />Course Withdrawal Policy <br />A student withdrawing or being withdrawn from a course who has posted <br />attendance after the Drop/Add period but prior to the fourteenth calendar <br />2020-2021 Garden Grove Catalog I Publication Date: November 30, 2020 1 Effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 <br />36 <br />
