CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />8. When appropriate, coordinate and cooperate with other organizations, municipalities, <br />companies and firms having similar legislative objectives as the City. Where appropriate, <br />advocate positions on legislation and work to secure language in law that will advance the City's <br />interests. <br />9. Provide the City with copies of bills (introduced or amended) or proposals pertaining to issues <br />of concern/interest to City, particularly those affecting or relating to City's Legislative Program. <br />10. Track said legislation and provide the City with advance notice of hearings or critical actions <br />relating to those bills or issues. At the request of the City, prepare briefing materials such as <br />memos summarizing legislation. <br />11. At the request of the City, assist with drafting position letters on legislation legislation or <br />language for City policy resolutions. <br />12. Coordinate meetings with State Legislators and state agency leaders to provide the City the <br />opportunity to meet with key decision -makers on pertinent City issues. <br />13. Provide regular updates on the political landscape in Sacramento to help provide content, and <br />identify opportunities and potential issues. Provide monthly reports of activities pursued or <br />accomplished on behalf of the City. <br />14. Arrange for an annual visit to the City of Santa Ana for a legislative committee meeting and/or <br />to meet with the City Manager and/or designated City officials. <br />15. Prepare and file all applicable Fair Political Practices Commission lobbying documents and <br />reports within all applicable deadlines, per the provisions of the Political Reform Act of 1974 as <br />amended.
