Admissions Policies & Procedures <br />ENTRANCE TEST <br />Prospective students must provide a valid a high school diploma or its equivalent or successfully pass an Ability to <br />Benefit test (Wonderlic), independently administered. Should the candidate not have a high school diploma or equivalent <br />(GED), s/he must achieve a minimum passing ATB score of 12, per publisher's scoring standard.- All prospective <br />students must pass a Capacity to Benefit (CTB) exam per State of California BPPE regulations. The Wonderlic SLE is <br />used for CTB eligibility. For all telecommunication programs, the passing score required is 16, per the publisher's scoring <br />standard; for security guard programs, the passing score is 17. <br />High School Diploma EqulyaleM <br />Applicants without a high school diploma may provide the following for consideration of admittance to any program if the <br />following documentation shows evidence of high school graduation: <br />1. Transcript from high school that evidences successful completion of all required coursework and graduation <br />2. General Educational Development (GED) certificate <br />3. High school equivalency certificate, such as the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHPSE) <br />4. Transcript that shows the applicant earned an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution <br />recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, if it shows the high school attended with graduation date. <br />If the applicant is a home -schooled student, s/he must submit documentation that outlines the curriculum studied. This <br />may be in the form of course syllabi or a transcript form a recognized home -schooling agency. If such documentation is <br />not available, then GED or CHSPE scores must be provided. <br />All transcripts must be in English or submitted with a certified English translation of the original. High school <br />documentation from a country other than the United States must be translated and certified to be at least the equivalent <br />of a U.S. high school diploma by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation <br />Services (NACES) or Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) within 30 days of starting the program. <br />An applicant who cannot provide evidence for any of the above -mentioned documents may be admitted under certain <br />conditions, including having to submit acceptable documentation of completion of high school or its equivalent no later <br />than 30 days from the first scheduled day of the program. If a student's high school diploma/transcript is not provided d <br />within 30 days of the class start, this fee will be refunded, and the student's enrollment will be voided. <br />For those with prior college training who wish to transfer credits, please see the Transfer of Credit policy in this catalog <br />under the section titled General Policies and Information. <br />Pregnancy <br />Applicants who are pregnant at the time of enrollment must provide authorization from their attending physician prior to <br />starting the program. <br />American Trade Academy School Catalog Page 6 <br />
