Orozco, Norma
From: Greg Camphire <gcamphire@gmail.com>
Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2021 3:46 PM
To: eComment
Subject: vote YES on the climate and public health emergency resolution
Hello,
My name is Greg Camphire, I live in the Pacific Park neighborhood of Santa Ana. I am writing to urge
legislators to vote YES on the climate and public health emergency resolution being brought forward by
Councilmember Jessie Lopez.
There is a pollution crisis that is poisoning Santa Ana's soil, air, and water. The city must support the passing of
a climate and public emergency that calls for an end to fossil fuels and an expansion of clean renewable energy
choices, as well as creating more green spaces and parks and taking further actions to reduce lead and other
environmental toxins in our neighborhoods.
Santa Ana has a chance to be one of the first cities in the world to explicitly link climate justice with
environmental justice and endorse the Fossil Fuel Non -Proliferation Treaty. By doing so, we can prove that
Santa Ana is a world -class city that leads the planet into a cleaner, safer future.
Thank you,
Greg
