Orozco, Norma
From: Helen Maurer <7gables@cox.net>
Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2021 1:15 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Santa Ana should phase out fossil fuels and fast track clean energy solutions
Categories: Correspondence
Climate change is inextricably linked to public health. The carbon emissions that are causing climate change are also
causing chronic health problems in our local communities (e.g. asthma and various lung and heart conditions). To
address both crises, we need to phase out fossil fuels and switch to clean, renewable energy as rapidly as possible. This
constitutes an emergency situation of the highest order. I say this as a grandmother and environmentalist who is
working to get my own city of Mission Viejo to take action.
13
