Orozco, Norma
From: Tristan Miller <tristan@mansey.com>
Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2021 12:06 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Santa Ana should phase out fossil fuels and fast track clean energy solutions
Categories: Correspondence
Dear Santa Ana City Council,
Please pass the climate and public health emergency introduced by Jessie Lopez.
Let's do this for our community. Let's do this for our children.
The lack of action on the climate crisis is already impacting our community! Heat, droughts, fires, and pressure on our
infrastructure will only worsen. There are solutions and we need this resolution to bring real affordable solutions to
Santa Ana!
This resolution calls for an end to fossil fuel expansion, clean renewable energy choices that save money, family -wage
jobs, and an endorsement of the Fossil Fuel Non -Proliferation Treaty initiative. We can reduce fossil fuel pollution that is
heating our world and poisoning our communities while improving the quality of life for every Santa Ana.
We all have a responsibility to protect our environment for us and future generations. Action actually improves our life,
our community, and spurs a greener economy. Inaction costs more, means more pollution, more crumbling
infrastructure, and more of the same.
Let's take the first step by passing this resolution.
Please commit to taking local action to explore policies that stop fossil fuel expansion, speed up the clean energy
transition, reduce local pollution, and empower our local community and economy.
Thank you,
Tristan Miller Santa Ana Resident Ward 3
47
