Orozco, Norma
From:Christian Hernandez <chrisjhernandez@outlook.com>
Sent:Tuesday, May 18, 2021 9:35 AM
To:eComment
Subject:City Council Meeting Public Comment - May 18, 2021
Good Evening Honorable Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem and Members of the City Council,

My name is Christian Hernandez and I am a resident of Santa Ana currently residing in Ward 3, specifically
Westwood Condominiums.

A few months ago, the City of Santa Ana hosted a town hall meeting with residents on Hillview Regency
Condominiums and Meredith Parkwood to discuss the permit parking program in the neighborhood. At that
town hall, multiple City staffers were in attendance and expressed that they would revisit the parking program
to establish an equitable process for ALL homeowners in the City of Santa Ana.

I understand the challenges this may present due to the different characteristics of each neighborhood but I
am hopeful that Council will establish short-term goals in the meantime. The ultimate goal would be for the
City of Santa Ana to conduct a city-wide parking study. As a homeowner in the Westwood Condominiums, I'd
like to explore the possibility of including Westwood Ave from Memory Ln. to the parking lot entrance of
Morrison Park onto the permit parking program and thus including the Westwood Condominium
homeowners.

Westwood Condominiums is comprised of 50 units and each unit has a dedicated parking spot within the
complex but with most families having two vehicles per household, Westwood Ave, would be the best option.
The current challenge in our neighborhood are vehicles that have not been moved in more than 72 hrs (I've
called PD multiple times but with only 2 staff monitoring parking, it's difficult to get an officer to mark
vehicles) or they park their vehicles from the apartments on Bristol Ave and the 22 Freeway.

I'm happy to discuss with staff my thoughts and work TOGETHER to an amicable solution.

Thank you,
Christian Hernandez
714-589-1992
1
