EXHIBIT A <br />Appendix <br />ATTACHMENT 1 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br />FOR <br />MCFADDEN AVE. PROTECTED BIKE LANE AND BICYCLE BOULEVARD <br />FROM HARBOR BLVD. TO GRAND AVE. <br />RFP NO.: 20-164 <br />INTRODUCTION / PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />Within the City of Santa Ana, McFadden Avenue is a four -lane east -west secondary arterial <br />facility, except along certain short segments as two-lane collector roadway. The proposed project <br />will implement a Class 2 buffered bike lane along McFadden Avenue from Harbor Blvd. to Santa <br />Ana River and Standard to Grand, a Class 4 protected bike lane from Santa Ana River to Bristol, <br />Main to Maple, Halladay to Standard, and a Class 3 bicycle boulevard from Bristol to Main and <br />Maple to Halladay. The proposed Project will reduce one standard vehicular travel lanes in each <br />direction from two lanes to one lane per direction between Santa Ana River and Grand Avenue. <br />Once implemented, the roadway would operate in its new configuration with one lane in each <br />direction and the Class 3 & 4 bikeways, except for the segment from Harbor Boulevard to Santa <br />Ana River will remain at two lanes in each direction with a new class 2 bikeways. Additionally, <br />project components will include some roadway paving, signing, striping, median, bike detection, <br />bulb -outs, traffic signal modifications, and railroad coordination and improvements. <br />The project, as represented in the Concept Plan and as outlined below under Consultant <br />Responsibilities shall include, but not limited to, the following components: <br />• Roadway <br />o Minor roadway and grading design, including parking divider, median, ADA <br />ramps, and bulb -outs <br />■ Excluding McFadden from Fairview to Raitt (a separate rehabilitation <br />project) <br />o At grade crossing and pedestrian improvements at Union Pacific Railroad <br />■ Railroad coordination with Union Pacific and California Public Utility <br />Commission <br />• Traffic <br />o Signing and Striping <br />o Traffic signal modifications, except at Standard Ave. <br />o Video detection at all signalized intersections <br />o Traffic Signal Interconnect <br />• Coordination <br />o Project coordination with the future protected bike boulevard along Standard Ave <br />from Warner Avenue to 3`d Street and rehabilitation of McFadden from Fairview <br />St. to Raitt St. The bid packages of three projects (McFadden Bike Project, Standard <br />Bike project and McFadden Rehabilitation project) may be advertising for bid <br />together in one package. <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 20-164 <br />Page Al-1 <br />
