I applaud this action.
GOOD
1. Increasing the noticing requirement for City -sponsored development projects from addresses
within a 500-foot radius of the subject property to a 2,000-foot radius, as well as informing
renters and homeowners is a great step in addressing the communication issues that have
arisen in the past.
2. Publishing public meeting agendas seven days in advance is also seen as a positive change.
BAD — None
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. When a Sunshine Meeting notification is sent out, distribution should include the
neighborhood association president, if applicable.
2. The ordinance says notices shall be written in English and Spanish and include instructions as
to how to request language interpretation services. All notices should be in English and given
the ethnic make-up of the area, another language may be necessary, i.e., Spanish or
Vietnamese.
Looking forward to seeing a revision to the Sunshine Ordinance.
Respectfully,
4.
Dale A Helvig
Resident, Santa Ana
2021-07-18 Letter to City Council
