<br />Located in Anaheim, California, the Orange County Conservation Corps (OCCC) was founded
<br />in 1993 as a part of the Anaheim anti -gang task force, and serves at -risk youth ages 18-25 years
<br />old throughout Orange County, California. OCCC is a 501 (c) (3) and currently has a team of 11
<br />board members, and 30 full time staff members. Many of OCCC staff are graduates of our
<br />program, and continued to give back through leadership and mentor roles. The OCCC mission is:
<br />"To serve young, at -risk adults through employment, training and educational programs that
<br />build self-sufficiency and benefit the community through conservation driven projects. " OCCC
<br />headquarters is open 7-5pm Monday through Thursday and 8-12pm Friday and located off
<br />Raymond and Orangethorpe at: 1853 North Raymond Ave., Anaheim CA 92801, with several
<br />major public transportation access points, public parking, and bike locks. OCCC also offers
<br />Corpsmember pick-up points throughout Santa Ana, Anaheim, Buena Park and surrounding
<br />areas as needed. Facilities decor highlight youth success and youth, entering facilities are greeted
<br />by Corpsmembers in professional training positions, within a state-of-the-art conservation
<br />building. Operational facilities and educational programs are located less than I mile away at
<br />1548 East Walnut Ave., Fullerton CA 92831, in collaboration with the Orange County
<br />Department of Education, College and Career Preparatory Academy (CCPA). CCPA offers high
<br />school diploma programs, STEM training coursework, and education services, with 5 full time
<br />staff members on site. CCPA school hours are: Monday through Friday from 9-6pm.
<br />OCCC actively administers the Santa Ana WIOA Youth Programs contract. For the past 13 years
<br />OCCC has met and/or exceeded all contract measures, and actively meets all current contract
<br />obligations from 2017-18 and follow-up services from 2016-17 Youth. OCCC staff continues to
<br />deliver services to a majority of out of school youth through WIOA contracts year over year, in a
<br />long-standing record of service excellence and contract management. Further, OCCC provided
<br />youth employment services through the Orange County Workforce Development Board for 6
<br />years, serving over 700 youth, and meeting and/or exceeding full contract expectations. OCCC
<br />currently provides contract services for the Orange County Development Board WIOA National
<br />Dislocated Worker Grant, WIA National Emergency Grants (NEG), serving 62 youth with
<br />employment and skills training. OCCC operates an annual budget of $4,311,204 with major
<br />funding provided from the State of California, Anaheim, Santa Ana and OC WIOA, North
<br />Orange County Public Safety Task Force, fees for service contracts, and various grants to
<br />OCCC.
<br />In our 25th year of operation, OCCC provides pathways to skill development resources,
<br />employment, training, and educational services to Orange County's hardest -to -reach and neediest
<br />segment of our young adult population. In these 25 years, OCCC has provided paid job training
<br />program support to over 8,400 opportunity youth and their families by instilling a strong work
<br />ethic, developing an individual's self-worth, while providing the necessary experience and job
<br />skills to ensure that our young adults become successful candidates in the workforce. No other
<br />organization in Orange County provides as many hours of paid work experience —up to 29 hours
<br />a week at $12.00 per hour, Last year OCCC paid over 84,000 hours to our Corpsmembers and
<br />over 600,000 hours during the past 5 years.
