Serve... www.h!reyouth.org <br />Tools to Green the Future! <br />WIOA Supportive Services Policy and Procedures <br />Effective 12129120 <br />Purpose: <br />To establish guidelines for the issuance of supportive services to youth enrolled in <br />a WIOA funded program and are actively engaged in WIOA Title I activities and/or <br />post -exit follow up services. <br />Procedures: <br />ELIGIBILITY: <br />1. To request and receive support services, a participant must be actively <br />enrolled in one (1) or more of the fourteen (14) required program elements, <br />including during follow-up services. <br />2. Supportive services will be approved upon verification of enrollment and <br />participation in required program elements, when necessary for youth to <br />participate in required program elements, and when the youth is unable to <br />obtain supportive services through any other program or agency. <br />3. Provision of support services is not an entitlement and it will be determined <br />what supportive services are reasonably required for youth based on <br />individual need, assessment results, and the Individual Service Plan (ISP). <br />AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND ASSESSMENT OF NEED: <br />1. All Support Services not offered through OCCC are processed on a <br />reimbursement basis. <br />2. Support services are delivered contingent upon the availability of funds. <br />3. Initial assessment of need will be determined by the Program Specialist. <br />The need for services will be recorded on the Individual Service Plan (ISP) <br />and through on -going assessment. <br />4. The Program Specialist is responsible for determining if transportation is a <br />significant barrier to participation in required program elements, and <br />whether or not the youth were unable to obtain services through another <br />program or agency. <br />5. Supportive services may be provided while a participant is enrolled in one <br />or more of the 14 elements, including when a participant has exited the <br />program and is eligible for follow up services. Supportive services must be <br />determined based upon the individual and must include a <br />review/assessment of the participant's need for supportive services to meet <br />goals and documented in the case file. Supportive service obligations and <br />expenditures are to be tracked separately and are subject to the additional <br />policies below. <br />
