For over 50 years, Waste Management has been an active member of the Santa Ana community. They have been continued supporters of important community organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, the Power of One Foundation, The Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, Com-Link, and multiple City sponsored community and clean up events. Additionally, as a local service provider, Waste Management has made a positive impact on our local economy and quality of life. They employ a dedicated, trained workforce of over 100 people, many of whom live in Santa Ana. These hardworking men and women have helped the City introduce new and recognized recycling and outreach programs, which have directly impacted the cleanliness of our community. Waste Management has demonstrated on countless occasions that they are committed to a clean city effort, which includes bulky item pick-ups and illegal dumping clean ups. They are a service provider that has historically addressed environmentalism and sustainability and they are always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. As many of you know, this is one of the largest contracts that you will issue during your tenure on the City Council. I urge you to please consider all aspects of Waste Management's service and uncompromised dedication to a clean city effort.
