Orozco, Norma
From:Virginia Bernal <v_bernal@sbcglobal.net>
Sent:Monday, September 06, 2021 12:58 PM
To:eComment
Subject:Protect Santa Ana from lead and other environmental toxins
Dear Santa Ana City Council and Mayor Sarmiento,

Thank you for your public service in our Santa Ana City Council.

I write in support of the Climate Emergency Resolution you are considering. Our daily news these days is of climate and
pollution catastrophes occurring in our country and around the world. Our city is not immune to environmental
devastation (drought and fire) and already has lead contamination. We need to recognize the emergency and do our
part in Santa Ana to help solve the global climate and pollution problem.

The Biden administration's green infrastructure policies should find our city ready with shovel ready jobs, offering great
opportunities for our Santa Ana.

Please pass this resolution and commit to seriously exploring and implementing policies that drastically reduce our fossil
fuel use, help our community embrace the clean energy transition, and create a healthier environment. Our community
and economy will benefit greatly.

Thank you,
Virginia Bernal, 92703
1
