COUNT, <br />Work Experience Policy <br />Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act <br />Program 2020 — 2021 <br />To establish guidelines for the WIOA youth's paid work experience <br />placements while enrolled in PROJECT KINSHIP's Youth Employment <br />Program funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity <br />Act (WIOA). <br />Eligibility & Customer Profile: <br />WEX youth participating in work experience must have unexpired <br />right to work documents and qualify for the youth employment <br />program by meeting the requirements as outlined in the Youth <br />Program Eligibility and Application Policy. Youth will make a plan with <br />the case manager in order to assess the developmental needs and <br />place youth in a worksite that best fits the youth's experience and <br />interests. <br />General Information: <br />Lunch and Breaks: WEX youth must take a % hour unpaid break after <br />no more than 5 hours of work. They are also entitled to a paid 10- <br />minute rest period every 4 hours. <br />W-2: To be available for all youths that participated in WEX by <br />January 31 for the hours completed the year before. Youths are <br />responsible to update PROJECT KINSHIP staff on addresses so that <br />their W-2 gets mailed out to the correct address. <br />Worker's Compensation: WEX Youth are all covered under PROJECT <br />KINSHIP's insurance. If they are ever to become injured or hurt on <br />the job they will call the insurance company and go to the provider <br />covered by the insurance. <br />
